LOKI (DISNEY+) Marvel’s “God of Mischief” gets his own six-part series which follows on from the events of
Avengers: Endgame, when Loki re-stole the Tesseract. Having diverted from the “sacred timeline”, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) now has to answer to the Time Variance Authority, including Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson). With a Ned Flanders-esque moustache and his trademark laid-back delivery and persona, Wilson (
Wedding Crashers,
Wonder) is the perfect counterpoint to Loki’s more flamboyant tendencies, the opening episode establishing an uneasy relationship that should make for some terrific “buddy comedy” to lighten the potentially heavy talk of multiverses and time crimes.

he third season of Motherland starts as it means to go on: with an âabsolute nitshowâ. As an official arrives to brief parents at the state primary school, every unravelling mother in the land will wish she didnât recognise herself. The nit expert urges parents to comply with the guidelines: âCombing ⦠shampooing ⦠combing again,â which is only marginally less laughable than the governmentâs âstay alertâ slogan it is satirising. But it is not too soon for the pandemic to get the Motherland treatment â if it came in a bottle, it would look, smell and perform precisely like nit shampoo.
