Summit School back to square one after PMSD denies another charter proposal
The proposed Summit Charter School is back to square one, again. 
Pocono Mountain School District held a special board meeting on Feb. 24 during which the board voted yet again to deny the proposed school s charter. 
 Summit School has applied for a charter multiple times over the past two years.

The district noted several concerns about the application. 
“Summit mentions a bilateral fit (in its application), which is great for the parents, students and school, but a bilateral fit does not belong in the charter school application and this was explained clearly in previous applications, PMSD board president Rusty Johnson said in his opening statement.  ....

Knopf Doubleday Restructures Marketing Department

Knopf Doubleday has announced the implementation of a new departmental structure. Senior v-p and director of integrated marketing strategy Kristin L. Fassler said that the change is intended to augment the skills of the marketing team and help them reach the widest possible audience of readers.
Among these changes, each imprint will have its own dedicated marketing director and team that will report to Fassler. The imprints will be supported by Knopf’s new marketing operations group, who, among many services, will provide resources for promoting their frontlist and backlist.
Lauren Weber has been newly promoted to director of marketing for Doubleday and will continue to oversee the imprint’s social media strategy and implement campaigns for its biggest titles. Erin Merlo, Lindsay Mandel and a soon-to-be-hired marketing manager will report direct ....
