Two vehicle crash LOCK HAVEN Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at the corner of South Fairview Street and Bellefonte Avenue at 3:39 p.m. Jan. 21. Drivers were Heather D. Garman of Lock Haven, and Barbara A. Kessinger of Lock Haven. Garman was transported to UPMC Lock Haven by ambulance with suspected minor injuries, as was a passenger in her vehicle, Barbara Morse who suffered a head laceration. There were three passengers in the Kessinger vehicle and one of them was transported to the hospital, police said. According to police, Garman made a left turn in front of the Kessinger vehicle, which was eastbound on Bellefonte Avenue. Garman will be cited for improper left turn, police said. ....
Drug possession JERSEY SHORE Victor Garms, 45, of 286 Hill St., Jersey Shore, faces several charges for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following a Nov. 4, 2020, traffic pullover by Williamsport city police. Garms allegedly had a crack pipe in the car and a crack pipe hidden in a flashlight on his person, according to police officer Brett Garbrick. Garbrick also said Garms allegedly had crack cocaine in a brown napkin in the center console. Additionally, Garms allegedly had a case with clear glass methamphetamine pipes and crack pipes, brillo, a digital scale and a clear glass vial that was field tested as methamphetamine. ....
jbergmueller@sungazette.com Tuesday’s expansion of eligibility for Pennsylvanians to receive a COVID-19 vaccine has left many state residents asking “How can I get the vaccine?” The answer is not clear-cut, and involves a lot of waiting. On Tuesday, the Pennsylvania Department of Health expanded the list of eligible recipients of the COVID-19 vaccine to include more than just healthcare workers. Now, all adults older than 65 years are eligible for the vaccine. Meanwhile, Pennsylvanians aged 16-65 with certain pre-existing conditions can receive one of the two COVID-19 vaccines: Either the Pfizer vaccine or the Moderna vaccine. The qualifying pre-existing conditions include cancer, chronic kidney disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and down syndrome. It also includes heart conditions such as heart failure, coronary artery disease or cardiomyopathies. ....

No grandchildren tearing open fancy wrapped gifts before enjoying the traditional turkey dinner. And no travelling to visit family members who are homebound to make sure they weren’t alone on this Christmas Day. But there was love… an abundance of love from everywhere … that gave me strength, determination and hope that I could beat this coronavirus that was wrecking my body like no other illness has ever done. It wasn’t easy and there were times when I cried reading in The Express of COVID deaths of local folks… some dear friends of mine who died from this horrible disease that has invaded the world. ....
