Overall production of the Chinese glass industry in 2020 maintained positive growth. The total annual output of flat glass increased by 1.3 percent year on year, while the revenue and profit of the industry were 92.6 billion CNY and 13 billion CNY, which increased 39 percent year on year. For processed glasses, the accumulative output of toughened glass, laminated glass and insulating glass was up respectively to 530 million square metres, 110 million square metres and 150 million square metres in 2020. ....

From cell to module without loss of efficiency: This is one of the main challenges of perovskite photovoltaics. Researchers at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) have now managed to produce perovskite solar modules with minimum scaling loss. For this purpose, they combined laser-based series interconnections with vacuum processing of all layers of the solar cell. They achieved an 18 percent efficiency on an area of four square centimeters – a world record for vacuum-processed perovskite solar modules. ....

RWE to pilot 'quiet' pile driving technique - reNews - Renewable Energy News

RWE is leading an academic-industrial consortium that is researching quieter pile driving technology that will be piloted at its 342MW Kaskasi offshore wind farm project.
The VISSKA project, is aimed at exploring the use of vibratory pile driving at the Kaskasi offshore wind project, in terms of installation, noise emissions and the impact on the behaviour of porpoises.
The other partners are Itap GmbH, BioConsult SH, the University of Stuttgart (Institute of Geotechnical Engineering) and Technische Universitut Berlin (Foundation Engineering and Soil Mechanics).
Kaskasi offshore wind farm is to be constructed 35 kilometres north of the island of Heligoland and is expected to be commissioned in the summer of 2022. ....
