Neglected Dighty Burn path transformed in hope of bringing more walkers

Volunteers in Dundee have transformed a local green pathway that has been left untouched for over a decade to encourage locals to walk more.
The project came after Dighty Connect, part of East Dundee Environmental Network (EDEN), was awarded a Paths for All Active Travel grant of £4,000 in the hope to improve greenspaces and paths in East Dundee and the wider area.
The funding, supported by Transport Scotland, has helped restore a 500m stretch of path along Dighty Burn which sits across from an industrial estate with over 2,000 employees, to encourage workers to use the path on their commute to work. ....

Two women charged in connection with Dundee robberies which left one OAP 'penniless'

Two women have been charged following alleged robberies targeting elderly residents at a Dundee sheltered housing complex.
Police arrested a 21-year-old and a 40-year-old in connection with the probe, which centred around properties on Kinghorne Road and Wedderburn Street.
Two alleged robberies are said to have taken place at the sheltered accommodation on Wednesday and Thursday.
Police say there was also an attempted robbery at one of the properties.
One 75-year-old woman who lives at the complex is said to have had £460 of savings taken during one of the alleged robberies, leaving her penniless. ....

A Dundee pensioner has been left penniless after a toothless woman forced her way into her home in a shocking daytime robbery.
Kinghorne Road resident Mary Davie, 75, says she has been left badly shaken by the incident.
She is one of three victims hit in the same Hilltown sheltered housing complex on Wednesday afternoon. ....
