The mystery of Kellogg Island has been solved! Okay, so you might not remember that a search for – and the mystery of – the namesake of Kellogg Island was discussed on an installment of KIRO Radio’s “All Over The Map” back in June of 2019. Kellogg Island is one of my favorite spots anywhere. It’s in the Duwamish River, not far from Elliott Bay. What sets Kellogg Island apart is that it is one of the last remaining natural parts of the river from the thousands of years before European settlers came.

Gov. Inslee signs flurry of anti-pollution laws, but draws ire with vetoes at 1:59 pm Washington Governor Jay Inslee signed a sweeping set of new environmental laws Monday. He also vetoed some of their key provisions, drawing criticism from both Democratic and Republican lawmakers. The five new laws aim to tackle pollution from fossil fuels and petroleum products as well as the various harms they do to the global climate, human health, and sea life: Creating a âcap-and-tradeâ system to limit carbon emissions from the stateâs biggest polluters Creating a âlow-carbon fuel standardâ that requires cars and trucks to shift to cleaner fuels in the coming years and make the daily commute less of a threat to the global climate.
