After an explosive episode in which Detective Superintendent Joanne Davidson (Kelly Macdonald) was interviewed by AC-12 and Marcus Thurwell appears to have been found dead in Spain, there’s just one episode of this series of Line of Duty left.
In a new trailer for the final episode released on Monday (26 April) afternoon, Davidson is in handcuffs in prison after being charged with perverting the course of justice and malfeasance in a public office.
However, she is later shown to be being transported in a police van, asking: “What’s going on?” as her guards look on.

One fascinating theory that recently gained attention was that Patricia was sending a secret message during an interview with DCI Joanne Davidson (Kelly Macdonald) during Sunday's episode, as she was spotted tapping her pen on the table four times.

Line of Duty fans convinced Marcus Thurwell is still alive after spotting clue

In the final moments of the episode, local authorities raided the house where Thurwell was believed to be staying, but found only the corpses of a man and a woman inside, declaring Thurwell dead.
However, some viewers were less convinced, with many claiming that the grainy bodycam footage meant it would be hard to prove that Thurwell’s body was the one discovered.
“There’s no way James Nesbitt would only appear in #LineofDuty as a corpse,” one fan theorised, adding: “Marcus Thurwell is well and truly alive.”
In addition, many fans suggested that one of the police officers taking part in the raid looked suspiciously like Nesbitt, suggesting that Thurwell had managed to infiltrate the Spanish police too.

How good was Line of Duty last night? The penultimate episode saw Joanne Davidson (Kelly Macdonald) getting grilled by AC-12 and left even more questions to be answered. Although she's claimed previously she isn't bent, Joanne was dodging bullets and dropping multiple 'no comment' bombs during her interrogation by Steve Arnott (Martin Compston), Patricia Carmichael (Anna Maxwell-Martin) and Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar).
An annoyed Ted barked at her: "Jesus, Mary, and Joseph and the wee donkey, can we just move this thing on before it drives us round the bl**dy bend?"
