Vermont State Police Trooper Charles Gardner on Thursday identified the woman as 52-year-old Jody Catalano. Around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, troopers from Vermont State Police’s Rutland barracks were dispatched for a call about a snowmobile crash on Vast Trail Road near Yale Road South both off Government Road in the town of Mount Holly. Troopers learned that Catalano was riding along the trail, navigating a left curve, when she went off the trail, Gardner said. ....

On Thursday, police identified the victim as Jody Catalano, 52, of Madison, Connecticut. Police say Catalano died about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday on a trail near Government Road. Catalano was traveling at approximately 20 miles an hour, when she went off the trail and hit her head on a tree. Catalano, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing. ....
