This summer the streets around Milagro will host a cycle of fun activities. In conjunction with Portland’s Sunday Parkways, Milagro will highlight Latino performing groups and bike clinics as part of its Latine Plaza Activation Project.

On August 1, stop by Milagro on your way around the green loop and get your bike tuned up by volunteers from
Bikes 4 Humanity, a non-profit bike shop and school. They accept donations of used bicycles and share skills and knowledge needed to get more people riding. ....

should have plenty to celebrate. The sun will make its annual guest appearance in our oft-soggy skies, any adult who wants a COVID-19 vaccine will be able to get one, and—so far—we’ve made it through 18 months of this pandemic without overflowing our hospitals and with per capita case count rates that are the envy of 48 other states, though we collectively mourn the more than 2,500 Oregonians who’ve died after contracting the virus.   ....

For the Second Year in a Row, Sunday Parkways Won’t Operate as Normal Starting May 1, Sunday Parkways will release biking and walking routes on its website and social media accounts.

The Portland Bureau of Transportation has announced that Sunday Parkways won’t return to normal this year.
Founded in 2008, the annual event typically closes down streets for family-friendly group rides in neighborhoods around the city. Last year, the summer series moved online. ....

Sunday Parkways won’t return to normal this year, Portland eyes ‘choose your own adventure’ format

The city’s transportation bureau announced it would reveal a “choose your own adventure” format under which interested riders can choose from free online activities and a “self-guided exploration outdoors.”
More details will be released May 1, officials said. The news that the leisurely outdoor group event is likely cancelled for this summer comes one day before Multnomah County is once again set to face restaurant closures and other stringent measures to extreme risk of COVID-19 spread.
Transportation officials had said April 14 that the event this year might have a look and feel similar to the Sunday Parkways “that Portland knows and loves.” ....
