Reply 4/26/2021 Dakota County Public Health has COVID-19 vaccine appointments available this week. The clinics are at Metcalf Middle School. The vaccine provided at the clinics this week is Moderna. Subscribe Moderna is a two-dose vaccine that is available to anyone 18 years and older. If you get your first dose with Dakota County, you will be signed up for a second-dose appointment when you get your shot. Metcalf Middle Schools is located at 2250 Diffley Road, Burnsville. Reply 4/6/2021 The Dakota County Board of Commissioners presented the 2021 Public Health Achievement Awards to three recipients Tuesday, April 6 in celebration of National Public Health Week. Subscribe The winners are Bianca Virnig, who works for Metro Educational Cooperative Service Unit; Deerwood Elementary School s Virtual Safe Place; and all Dakota County youth for rising to the occasion during a difficult year. Virnig, an Eagan resident, is a regional support coordinator on the Dakota County Public Health consultation team. Since August 2020, she has helped schools provide a safe learning environment for students and staff as they responded to COVID-19. She has helped school members better understand COVID-19 guidance for contact tracing, personal protective equipment and building safety.
