The London property where British actress Diana Dors lived during her professional heyday has hit the market for £4.5million.
Dubbed  England s Marilyn Monroe thanks to her blonde bombshell image and Hollywood career, Diana scandalised 1950s Britain when tales of her sex parties and infidelity emerged.
She hosted notorious, alcohol and drug-fuelled get-togethers at her various properties - including one in Kent - for A-list celebrities - with the guest list thought to also include gangsters Ronnie and Reggie Kray (who were believed to be old friends of Diana s).
Her Chelsea double-fronted townhouse on Burnsall Street, located just off the King s Road, was her home between 1953 and 1968 and offers an abundance of living space over basement, lower ground, ground and two upper levels.  ....

Prince Philip's coffin was made by same firm that constructed Freddie Mercury's casket

The family firm that made Prince Philip s coffin by hand from English oak also constructed a casket for Queen star Freddie Mercury.
The Duke s lead-lined coffin was fashioned by Henry Smith, widely-regarded as the finest firm of its kind because of its precision and quality.
As well as making caskets, the company was the first in Britain to offer horse-drawn hearses, and at one point had a stable with 70 steeds.
Henry Smith opened in London s Battersea in 1869 and continued to make caskets by hand until it closed in 2005 when the last family member retired.

Ronnie Corbett said “there was never a cross word” with Ronnie Barker, during four decades of what he called a close and “very British friendship”. Barker described their partnership as “even more amicable than a marriage – wedlock without the bad patches”. During the heyday of The Two Ronnies, which was first transmitted on April 10 1971, more than 20 million viewers regularly tuned in every Saturday night; it was more national institution than television show.
The two men, both christened Ronald, met in London in 1963, when Corbett was a part-time barman at the Buckstone Club in Suffolk Street, near the Haymarket Theatre, a basement drinking hole where stars such as Sean Connery and John Gielgud would hang out. Corbett, who had previously worked with Barker’s stage manager wife Joy Tubb, was in the process of seeking new acting roles at the time he served Barker, then playing a roly-poly French gan ....
