    Mobile, Alabama (WALA) Even without parades, Mardi Gras celebrations could fuel COVID-19 transmission, Alabama’s top doctor warned Friday.
Alabama State Health Officer Dr. Scott Harris told reporters that the holiday in Mobile is no different than any occasion that has the potential to draw large numbers of people.
“We always have concern when you hear about large numbers of people getting together,” he said. “And, you know, there’s nothing magic about it being a parade format vs., you know, milling around in the street together without a parade format. I mean, I think both of those certainly have the potential for disease transmission, for sure.” ....

The Statewide Vaccination Community Engagement and Education Task Force conducted simultaneous news conferences all over the state of Florida on Wednesday. 
Religious and community leaders announced 80+ proposed vaccination sites to be located in targeted marginalized communities across Florida.
We as leaders are here to address the huge disparities in minority communities in reference to the number of Floridians who have been vaccinated, said R. L. Gundy, the NE Region Director of the Education and Engagement Taskforce at the Jacksonville news conference. ....

Carolyn Kerr Wilson, age 75, resident of Foley, AL, born March 18, 1945, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaylord and Iva Kerr; brother, Larry Kerr; and husband, James Wilson, Jr. Ms. Wilson was born in Royal Oak, MI, grew up in Fairhope, AL and was a graduate of Fairhope High School. She met Jim, the love of her life and they were married 17 years with homes in Florence, AL and Mobile, AL. She attended Dayspring Baptist Church in Mobile. She was very talented in many areas. Over the years she owned several small businesses including a health spa, kitchen gourmet, frame and ceramic shops. Her favorite past time was hand crafting fine jewelry. She enjoyed entertaining friends, playing card games, bunco and spending time with her family. Most of all, she loved her Lord Jesus. Carolyn is survived by her three children, son, Todd(Danielle) Bergman of Mobile, AL; daughter, K ....
