Funeral service for Alvin L. Anderson, 86 of Frisco, will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 12 pm at Victory Life Church 901 C.C. Woodson Rd. with interment to follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday July 23, from 6-8pm at Greater Faith Community Church 417 Wesley Brownwood, TX
Alvin Lee Anderson was born July 7, 1935 in Waco, TX to mother Rachel Price who passed away 1 month after Alvin was born. Alvin and his brother James Henry were legally adopted by Rachel’s sister Fannie Price-Anderson and husband Virgil Anderson. Alvin left school in the 9th grade to join the military. He served this country in the US Army and the US Air Force leaving with an honorable discharge. After leaving the military, Alvin took his 9th grade education, earned his GED, and proceeded to attend school at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX where he earned a Bachelors degree. He then went on to Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX where he earned his Masters de ....

Marble Falls High School senior runner Shea Johnson is headed to Ranger College to join the track and cross-country teams.
Johnson signed his National Letter of Intent on May 14 to compete for the Eastland County school, which sits between Abilene and Fort Worth. ....

OSU grad student earns master's despite dyslexia, dysgraphia

Camille Carey was told she shouldn’t go to college.
Not that she couldn’t, but she shouldn’t.
She was struggling to pass her high school exit exams because she couldn’t read them. She couldn’t write on them, either.
Despite her severe dyslexia and dysgraphia, Carey eventually did pass those tests. She decided to go to college anyway, and May 7, she graduated with a master’s degree in entomology and plant pathology from Oklahoma State University.

Election Day: Voters to weigh in on bond issues, municipal races

Polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
A $124.9 million bond proposal to expand and update Temple College facilities will be decided by local residents.
The proposal, if approved, would call for a major expansion of the schoolâs Health Sciences Center to address a shortage of health care workers as well as providing updates to several college buildings that are 50 to 60 years old.
âIf approved, the new facilities could be completed by 2026 when Temple College will be celebrating its 100th anniversary,â TC President Christy Ponce said. âThese campus advancements would represent an important milestone in Temple Collegeâs history of being trusted for generations and building for the future.â ....
