Back in January 2021, a strange scenario came up during NetherRealm Studios Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition: North American League - North America West Week 2 event. One of the competitors, Titaniumtigerzz, made it into top 8 on the losers side before being disqualified on stream as a direct result of his custom variation name for Sheeva WhyDidNRSdoThis. This custom variation equipped Sheeva with Dragon Stance, Queen s Punishment and Enhanced Dragon Drop.
About a week later, NetherRealm Studios addressed Sheeva with a patch that applied a few nerfs that targeted Dragon Drop and Dragon Stance by giving them both two additional frames of start up. Was this really enough of a response from NetherRealm Studios? ....

Over the weekend, the Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition: North American League - North America West Week 2 event concluded. One of the players that was able to work their way into the top 8 was Titaniumtigerzz. The tournament initially appeared to be running smoothly as Titaniumtigerzz competed against MCG|Krispifungus in the losers round 2 for a spot in the losers semi finals.
Without warning, the stream cut away from the gameplay and back to the commentators. It was then revealed to the viewers that the set was being put on hold until a problem could be addressed. In the moment, the commentators were unsure of what they could say until a public statement was issued. ....

The rules of combat between the realms has changed yet again as NetherRealm Studios has released the patch notes for Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate s December 11 update.
In addition to some general gameplay changes, 16 of the game s characters have gotten alterations. Many of these are smaller quality of life fixes, such as Johnny Cage s animation correction to Pissed Off or the update made to Joker s Getting Lit and Getting Lit that ensures it no longer reveals invisible foes.
All three of the game s newest roster members, Rain, Rambo, and Mileena, have a handful of bullet points in this list, which makes a good bit of sense considering these fighters have had the least amount of time out in the wild to be tested by the masses. ....

Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate s big update has given players the ability to be creative with their favorite characters. The custom variation system allows for mixing and matching of many special moves that effectively allow everyone to play however they want.
