KLCI dips in morning trade, bucking regional gains


KUALA LUMPUR (May 6): The FBM KLCI fell by 0.32% in early morning trade, bucking regional gains.
At 9.06am, the benchmark index had fallen 4.99 points to 1,570.68 points, weighed down by concerns over the widened movement control order (MCO).
Dataprep Holdings Bhd was the top gainer so far, up 14 sen to RM2.09, with 6.88 million shares traded.
Meanwhile, the top loser was Transocean Holdings Bhd, shedding 35 sen to RM6.30 amid a trading volume of 53,700 shares.
The most active stock on the local bourse so far was Tanco Holdings Bhd, which had risen one sen to RM1, with 37.15 million shares changing hands.
“Following the recent lacklustre performance and the announcement of the MCO, the KLCI could remain pressured and retest the support of 1,560 points,” said JF Apex in a note this morning. ....

Healthcare, industrial products and services continue to support KLCI


KUALA LUMPUR (May 4): Bursa Malaysia ended the morning trading session on a firm note as gains in heavyweights  particularly the healthcare and industrial product and service counters  continued to support the barometer index.
At the lunch break today, the benchmark FBM KLCI had expanded 6.18 points to 1,596.91 after opening 0.94 of a point better at 1,591.67.
It moved between 1,587.87 and 1,597.42 throughout the morning session.
On the overall market, gainers continued to dominate at 523 versus 405 losers, while 463 counters were unchanged, 761 untraded and six others suspended.
Market volume stood at 4.07 billion worth RM2.2 billion. 
A dealer said the healthcare counters, especially the rubber glove makers, continued to trend higher as Covid-19 resurgence concerns lingered. ....

Transocean unaware of any reasons for spike in share price


KUALA LUMPUR (April 20): Transocean Holdings Bhd has said it is unaware of any reasons that could account for the spikes in its share price and trading volume in recent days.
In response to an unusual market activity (UMA) query from Bursa Malaysia, the company said it is not aware of any corporate developments that have not been previously announced that could account for the higher trading activity.
Transocean noted that it had made disclosures regarding the purchase of a 40% stake in Enfrasys Solutions Sdn Bhd for RM20 million in an all-share deal.
The group had also proposed a private placement to fund the capital expenditure of the group s logistics service segment, as well as another private placement to raise funds to upgrade the logistics segment s information technology infrastructure and system. ....
