FAYETTEVILLE, West Virginia The New River is an ironic name for a place so steeped in history, both natural and manmade.
America’s newest national park isn’t new at all – in fact, it’s one of the oldest places on earth.
“The boulders on the sides of the river are more 300 million years old,” said rafting guide Scott Emery, as we plunged into a wall of whitewater on the New River in mid-April. “They’re four times older than the Grand Canyon.” ....

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States has a long way to go in its jobs recovery, which is showing persistent unevenness, a top economic adviser to President Joe Biden told CNBC on Friday, after a mostly positive employment report was released and as the Senate took the final steps toward passing a coronavirus economic relief plan.
