Development fee hike: Tourist attractions, new homes hit

Applications for new homes will cost hundreds and tourist attractions thousands of dollars more as Sunshine Coast Council moves in line with other local governments.
Fees for applications for dwelling houses or dual occupancies will increase from $640 to $900 and tourist attractions $4590 to $9510 - or a 107.18 per cent hike.
Councillors voted unanimously in favour of the changes to development and commercial fees at Thursday s meeting to ensure it was in line with other South East Queensland councils.
Previously the Sunshine Coast had the second lowest development fees for houses out of all southeast Queensland councils, with Brisbane City the cheapest. ....

Councillors were sent a series of questions about the steps they d taken to-date and were still to take to understand their division s views on mass transit to ensure they could accurately represent them in future debates and decision making, as well as their position on light rail, preferred method of mass transit and how they saw mass transit fitting into a broader transport system on the Coast.
