Permanent donation points are being installed in Tesco’s across Lancashire. Shoppers in Burnley, Rawtenstall, Chorley and Leyland stores can now donate to their community every time they shop as collection points will become a permanent fixture in the supermarkets. The Fareshare collection points allow shoppers to drop off long-life food whenever they are in store, with Tesco topping up customer donations by an additional 20 per cent in the form of a cash donation to the charity. Jeff Green, Development Manager at FareShare Lancashire and Cumbria, said: “Tesco is really leading the way by enabling their customers to donate food to local vulnerable communities via collection points in their stores.
