Police Blotter: Owner Of Vehicle Found On Brown Acres 14th Hole Said He Was Being Chased; Nothing Going On In Room 226 At Lee Highway Motel Sunday, May 23, 2021 Police responded to suspicious activity at Brown Acres Golf Club, 406 Brown Road. Officers were told a vehicle was parked on the golf course around the 14th hole at the far back of the property. Police located the vehicle that was sitting abandoned on the golf course. Police had it towed. A couple, who were the owners of the vehicle, showed up as police were having it towed. The man said he was being chased by another vehicle and was able to get away, but had to leave his vehicle on the golf course. Police told the man he would need to contact the tow company to get the vehicle back and he was trespassed from the property. ....

The blaze prompted an “all-hands” response of 60 firefighters and 12 units at around 6:37 p.m. to 24 Davis Ct., according to an official from the FDNY press office. Numerous FDNY vehicles lined Davis Avenue near the small, narrow dead end street where the fire occurred, and multiple other trucks squeezed onto Davis Court to reach the home. The second floor of the residence appeared to sustain interior damage. ....

ELKINS The colorful trail of flowers that blossomed around Elkins’ downtown streets the past several weeks were taken down Saturday afternoon. The flowers, which were part of this year’s Sprout Into Spring celebration, were sold at a cost of $10 to help fund any future projects by Our Town Inc., who organized the event. “We did very well in selling all but eight of the flowers,” said Our Town Inc. volunteer Bobbi Trimboli. “There were over 90 flowers on display and we really appreciate the community members who came out and bought them. It was an amazing turnout.” ....
