(WAFB) - LSU sophomore distance runner Davis Bove returned to his home state of Tennessee and broke a school record in the mile that had stood for 26 years. The Franklin, Tenn. native finished with a time of 3:57.49 at the Music City Challenge on Friday, Feb. 12. He bested the previous record of 3:58.77 that was set by Passmore Furusa in 1995. SCHOOL RECORD@Dbove1017 goes 3:57.49 to crack the four minute barrier in the mile and take at the Music City Challenge! ....

Randolph Ross, the second leg of that aforementioned relay team, also turned in two solo top-3 marks in the 200 (t-No. 3, 20.69) and 400 (No. 3, 46.20). Arkansas totaled 113 points to top a field of national caliber teams which included Southern California (84), Kentucky (81.5), Texas (60.5), LSU (54), Missouri (24), and Oklahoma State (6). “We’re not really putting a line-up together to score maximum amount of points,” said Arkansas men’s coach Chris Bucknam. “It’s everyone’s second meet of the season, and everybody is kind of doing the same thing we are.
