Navy sailor on trial over sexual assault of three colleagues

The 27-year-old man, who has interim name suppression, is on trial at a court martial at Devonport Naval Base in Auckland.
The alleged offences happened in a taxi and an apartment in Canada last year. Court martials have jurisdiction over offences committed overseas.
The Navy able rate denies sexually violating one woman by unlawful sexual connection and two charges of indecently assaulting two other women.
Prosecutor Captain Grace Blanks said the offences happened in Victoria, British Columbia, last August.

Waikato residents who work or play in Auckland now have a new travel option with the launch of Te Huia.
The new rail service from Hamilton to Auckland has been lauded for providing an important connection between the regions, but there are concerns about why it doesn t drop passengers in the city.
The service, Te Huia, made its inaugural journey on Tuesday with around 90 passengers, although it can carry up to 150.
The first service left Hamilton at 5:46am, stopping near The Base shopping centre and Huntly, before arriving at its final destination in Papakura just before 7:30am. ....
