류현진(34·토론토 블루제이스)이 드디어 홈구장 로저스 센터 마운드에 오른다.
류현진은 4일(한국시간) 캐나다 온타리오주 토론토의 로저스 센터에서 열리는 2021 메이저리그(MLB) 클리블랜드 인디언스전에 선발 등판한다.
2019시즌 종료 후 LA 다저스를 떠나 토론토 유니폼을 입은 류현진은 아직까지 한 번도 로저스 센터에서 홈 데뷔전을 치르지 못했다.
캐나다가 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 여파로 지난해부터 국경을 봉쇄했기 때문이다.
이로인해 토론토가 미국 플로리다 더니든의 TD 볼파크와 뉴욕 세일런 필드를 임시 홈구장으로 활용하면서 류현진은 떠돌이 생활을 했다.
