The majority of charges filed against a Schellsburg man accused of firing a shotgun at a group of Milwaukee activists marching to Washington D.C. last August — injuring one — were either dismissed or withdrawn on Wednesday during a preliminary hearing. District Judge H. Cyril Bingham dismissed the most serious charge filed against Terry L. Myers, 52, of Schellsburg — a second degree felony count of aggravated assault — as well as nine misdemeanor counts of simple assault that stemmed from an altercation along Route 30 in Juniata Township late in the evening of Aug. 24. Bingham bound seven misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering another person to the Court of Common Pleas, as well as a summary count of harassment.
