Lucille s Hospitality Group, the new endeavor from Houston chef Chris Williams, is on track to produce four new restaurant and lifestyle concepts by 2022. Williams, known for his restaurant Lucille s in the Museum District, has launched the venture as a tribute to his grandmother, Lucille B. Smith, who not only inspired his restaurant s moniker but also Williams own entrepreneurship with her own achievements as a business woman, chef and educator. The new operation will also create industry partnerships with local restaurants stars including Dawn Burrell, the James Beard Semifinalist for Best Chef: Texas in 2020 and former executive chef at Kulture. Burrell will serve as chef and concept partner within LHG. Burrell and Williams first partnered together in 2019 for the launch of the Food Apartheid Dinner Series along with chefs Jonny Rhodes and Dominick Lee to bring awareness to Houston s food deserts. Covid-19 took a lot of things away from people, be it loved ones, livelihoods, jobs, or opportunities. In the Houston food and beverage industry, it shook structures and left workers in the dark for weeks, sometimes months. Sasha Grumman was one of those workers. In late 2019 she started as executive chef at Rosalie Italian Soul, the anticipated restaurant from celebrity chef Chris Cosentino. After those typically blurry first few months, Rosalie started to settle into a groove, says Grumman, and then Covid-19 shut it down temporarily. I m a make-it-work and adapt kind of person, so I really wanted to keep working, but it just didn t make sense, says Grumman. I came to terms on that rather quickly. ....

Together with his business partner Steven Salazar, Medina opened Click in 2019. The venue operates over a dozen concepts that serve pizza, tacos, poke, Japanese curry bowls, Filipino food, and more from one kitchen and one ordering platform. Recently, it expanded by partnering with two existing restaurants, burger-chan and Ninja Ramen, to serve their dishes, too.
