The highly anticipated GB News has already attracted widespread speculation - and a fair amount of criticism too - even though no official launch date has been announced yet. But with the new channel expected to go on air at the end of this month, excitement is building. What is GB News? GB News will launch its TV channel within the next few weeks. TV platforms are preparing for the 24-hour news channel to go live on May 31st, The Telegraph reported. However, GB News told The Telegraph that the timing of the launch had not been decided. "The only confirmed dates are related to technical launches," a GB News spokeswoman said. "No date has been decided for the launch of live programming. That decision will not be made for some. ....

Just to be clear, that’s the Government’s priorities, not hers. The sovereign has more of a figurehead role and does not initiate legislation in Parliament, nor vote on it. She reads out the speech in the House of Lords, but it was written by ministers. Her being there is just another part of the pomp and ceremony of British political culture. ....
