Tourism PG CEO Tracey McBride is looking forward to the day out-of-province and international travellers find their way back to the northern capital.
Under the BC reopening plan, provincial travel restrictions could be lifted as early as June 15th, provided, vaccinations and case counts related to COVID-19 reach their desired targets.
In addition, local residents could host friends or family from out of the province as early as July 1st.
McBride told the increased foot traffic would provide a major boost for local businesses. ....

The Circuit Breaker Business Relief Grant now extends to 53-hundred hotels and other short-term accommodations impacted by the non-essential travel restrictions.
Another 75-million dollars was added to the grant, upping the total amount available to 125-million.
Tourism PG CEO, Tracey McBride told

“Over 70 to 80% of the businesses in tourism are made up of businesses that are small or medium-sized. Those are the businesses that are your authentic footprint and destinations so we have to ensure as we head into recovery that they remain viable.” ....
