The Alliance is pleased to announce the release of our report, “Water Equity Taskforce: Insights for the Water Sector,” a report that highlights the achievements of the Water Equity Taskforce and the lessons learned throughout the project. The goals of the Taskforce were to promote water equity, the notion that everyone is entitled to safe drinking water and clean waterways no matter where they live or who they are, test and implement more inclusive and just strategies, and institutionalize equitable water management practices in the water utilities involved in the project.  ....

EPA administrator Milwaukee leaders discuss lead pipe replacement


Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan visited Milwaukee Tuesday to discuss a bipartisan infrastructure framework that would support the city s efforts to replace lead service lines an estimated $800 million project the city says could be accelerated with federal help.
Regan met with local leaders to tour a water infrastructure project and hear updates on the city s progress in replacing lead service lines.
The $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure framework that the Biden administration supports includes a goal to eliminate all lead service lines and pipes in the country. It also includes providing all homes with high-speed internet and repairing roads and bridges.  ....

In addition to $1,400 stimulus checks and an extension in unemployment benefits, the American Rescue Plan provides $6 billion in direct aid to the state and to local Colorado cities, towns and counties. According to Senator Hickenlooper’s office, Carbondale will receive $1.37 million, Basalt will get $820,000, Aspen will receive $1.5 million, Marble will receive $30,000, and Glenwood Springs will get $2 million.
