Why we are launching Experiencing Public Relations book ― Nigerian Women in PR

Public relations (PR) as a profession has been misunderstood and largely unappreciated over the years, especially as many are unable to identify distinguishing features from its sister professions: advertising and marketing.
This, Nigerian Women in Public Relations has said, is the reason they have authored the Experiencing Public Relations book set to be launched tomorrow, Saturday.
According to a release by the women PR professionals, the Experiencing Public Relations book is a compilation of essays from 12 Nigerian women practicing public relations in Nigeria, Ireland, the United States and the United Kingdom.
With contributors ranging from entry-level professionals to veterans with over two decades’ experience, the articles discuss practical steps and raise thought-provoking questions that can help readers navigate their public relations journey from being young professionals to c-suite public relations women. ....

Leading PR professionals, business leaders headline maiden edition of Experiencing Public Relations

Nigerian Women in Public Relations has announced the date for the maiden edition of its Experiencing Public Relations annual conference.
Founder of the independent social impact organisation, Tolulope Olorundero, disclosed this during the pre-event media briefing saying: “We have now completed plans to host the maiden edition of our annual conference tagged Experiencing Public Relations which will hold on March 6, 2021 by 11 am WAT. Given the sometimes-intangible nature of the profession, we believe that one of the most important ways for the public and business leaders to understand and appreciate public relations is to deliver an immersive experience.
“So, from our speaker selection process to the entire programme design and public engagement – we want people to experience what PR is and how its principles can be used to create a perception shift.” ....

THE newly inducted Vice President of the Institute of Data Processing Management (IDPM), Rotimi Ajanaku, has advised all tiers of government on the need to deploy an analytic programme to combat crime.
Speaking with journalists in Lagos over the weekend shortly after his induction alongside Alhaji Adamu Garba, the new President of IDPM, Ajanaku admonished security agencies in Nigeria to partner IDPM for effective crime control and permanent eradication of terrorism. ....

The Deputy Secretary General of Botswana Federation of Public, Private and Parastatal Workers Union (BOFEPUSU) Ketlhalefile Motshegwa said government intention to retrench workers is bad move.
Motshegwa said the pronouncement by Matsheka that 50% of government vacant posts will be scrapped off would result in a serious economic depression amidst higher unemployment level. He is worried that the country would be thrown deeper into economic depression adding that Botswana doesn’t have a large vibrant private sector that create jobs while government cannot. ....
