A 16-year-old boy swept off rocks by wild surf at Coolangatta is continuing to make small, positive improvements in hospital, but faces a long road to recovery.
According to a fundraising page set up initially after the teen was hospitalised, he was unconscious for some time and the extent of his injuries were not known.
In an update on the page, posted on Tuesday, it was revealed Beau remained in hospital and it would be some weeks before his parents considered moving him into a rehabilitation centre. ....

Teenage boy, 16, is fighting for life after being swept off the rocks in Coolangatta


A teenage boy is fighting for life after being swept off the rocks at a popular surf beach.
Emergency services were called to Coolangatta, in the Gold Coast s south, on Wednesday afternoon after reports a boy had been knocked into the water amid wild surf. 
Council lifeguards pulled the youth out of the water between Snapper Rocks and Froggy Beach shortly after 2.30pm and began CPR before they were helped by NSW and Queensland paramedics, who were nearby.

Australia s east coast will be smashed by another rain bomb, with thousands of flood-hit residents urged to evacuate ahead of the wild weather.  
Holiday meccas including the Sunshine Coast, Byron Bay and the NSW north coast have been washed out by the wild weather over the past week - with erosion destroying coastlines and flash flooding devastating communities.

Flood warnings remain in place for much of northern NSW, while Queensland emergency services have responded to more than 14,000 call outs this week alone. ....

Storms forecast as huge tides, rain, winds smash southeast


 
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast thunderstorms to hit southeast Queensland this afternoon, continuing the region s wet weekend with more severe conditions.
Coastal parts of Brisbane to the Gold Coast and Wide Bay & Burnett areas are mostly likely to receive the severe storms this evening, with a possible storm predicted for the Darling Downs and Granite Belt region.

The weather warning comes as 150mm plus of rain was dumped on the Wide Bay & Burnett region since 9am this morning, with Fairlies Knob recording 155mm and Boompa Road recording 149mm. ....
