BEARDSTOWN Beardstown City Council has reached an agreement with Cass County Emergency Telephone System for the city’s dispatcher contract.
The council previously declined to approve the contract, instead requesting a breakdown of the costs and more information on how the service would operate and how it would improve on the current service.
The council unanimously approved the $84,675 contract Tuesday night after the ETS board lowered a proposed price increase by half, Beardstown Alderman Tim Harris said. ....

BEARDSTOWN The city continues to discuss its 2021 dispatch-services contract with Cass County Emergency Telephone System Board.
The board will meet next on Jan. 25, when members expect to address issues the city still has with the contract, Beardstown Alderman Tim Harris said.
Waiting until the meeting will give the board more time to research some of the city’s requests, so a contract can be signed soon, he said.
After the board presented its proposed contract to the city, the city requested more information on how the service would operate, how it would improve on its current service, and a breakdown of the costs. ....
