Lawsuit Accuses Digital Recognition Network of Secretly Collecting Billions of License Plates

A recently filed lawsuit accuses Digital Recognition Network of covertly collecting vehicle data on millions of Americans and selling it for a profit.
On May 26, several vehicle owners sued the company Digital Recognition Network (DRN) for using its fleet of unmarked surveillance vehicles to collect data on Americans. The plaintiffs claim that DRN has driven its vehicles around United States and covertly gathered data on unsuspecting Americans while reaping profits.

Vehicles stolen on Marco Island; license plate readers used in investigation

Six vehicles were stolen early Monday on Marco Island and a handful of others were burglarized, the Marco Island Police Department said in a release.
Two vehicles were recovered on the island as was one that was stolen from Pinellas County. 
In addition, 14 vehicles were entered or burglarized in incidents occurring on Sheffield and Devon courts, Copeland Drive, and Ludlow Road.
The vehicles yet to be recovered are a 2019 black Lincoln Navigator (Georgia license plate RTC833), a 2017 white Ford F-350 with a raised suspension (Florida license plate 16GUB), a 2018 charcoal Chevy Silverado (Florida license plate CRX02), and a 2007 black Lexus sedan (Florida license plate 229RYK). ....
