Another round of powerful wind and rain set to hit Corpus Christi area

Call it the calm before the rest of the storm.
High winds and rain that got heavy at times pounded much of the Corpus Christi area late Monday and early Tuesday.
Although things appeared to have calmed down by midday Tuesday, weather officials warned the storms aren t over yet.
Parts of Corpus Christi received up to an inch of rain in some areas Monday night, according to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi.
Flooding was a concern in low-lying areas.
There were several reports of strong winds, especially in Jim Wells and Duval counties. Weather reports documented calls about damaged roofs and downed power lines in Alice and near Benavides. The Automated Weather Observation System reported severe wind gusts up to 70 mph early Monday morning. ....

First Investment Development Company (FIDC)-MENZIES Aviation (MA) Consortium won the brownfield contract to manage the airport for 30 years on terms that will invest over N28billion to build new facilities and upgrade existing ones. THE International lounge of the Asaba International Airport hosted prominent Deltans, top Government functionaries and investors Tuesday as the Airport was concessioned to a master concessionaire (FIDC-Menzies Consortium, now incorporated as Asaba Airport Company Limited) and sub-concessionaires of technical partners with a designated area of investment for 30 years by the State Government after five years of rigorous and painstaking exercise.
Among the sub-concessionaires is Air Peace airline which has the mandate of the anchor airline with the construction and operation of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility at the airport. Multiflight Cargo and Logistics will manage the cargo aspect and its development. Arbico Construction Company will develop the Business Park, Hotel and Convention Centre; Rainoil Limited and Cybernetics Limited are to develop tank ....
