The Monetary Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka having considered the possible adverse impact on liquidity and other key performance indicators of licensed commercial Banks and licensed specialised banks due to the covid-19 outbreak and the importance of maintaining appropriate levels of liquidity and capital buffers have issued a set of direction for restriction on discretionary- payments of licensed banks. 
Therefore, licensed banks are directed for the following;
1. Defer payment of dividends until the financial statements of 2020 are finalised and audited by its external auditor.
2. Shall defer repatriation of profits not already declared for financial years 2019 and 2020 until all the financial statements of 2020 are finalised and audited by its external auditor. ....

The two people who died in a crash after travelling nearly 10km in the wrong direction on a Wellington motorway have been named.
They were 76-year-old Lisale Foaese and 41-year-old George Foaese, both of
Wellington.

An early morning crash which killed two people and left two others in a critical condition was caused by a vehicle travelling 10km in the wrong direction.
