Rubina Dilaik, who plays a transgender in her show Shakti Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, is taking her love for the community to another level in the Pride Month. “I have started an initiative for the transgender community in the country as I have been closely associated with them for the past five years. When I got in touch with them, I realised they are going through a really hard time during the pandemic. Many of them are struggling for their livelihood. I have started this drive to raise funds for them, the details of which will also be shared on my handle. It is a personal initiative; I just want to do my bit as I have worked closely with them on Shakti., where a lot of them were employed as actors on the show,” she says. ....

Judge orders reinstatement of teacher who opposes trans pronouns | U.S. News

A judge has ordered a Virginia school district to reinstate an elementary school teacher who was placed on leave after criticizing a proposed policy that would require him and other teachers to use the preferred names and pronouns of trans-identified students.
Byron Tanner Cross, a physical education teacher at Leesburg Elementary School, was put on administrative leave not long after he expressed his opposition to the proposed pronoun policy at a Loudon County School Board meeting in May.
In an order released Tuesday, Judge James E. Plowman of the 20th Judicial Circuit of Virginia granted Cross request for a temporary injunction against the school board s decision to place him on leave, which will expire in December. ....

An Oxfam staff training document says “privileged white women” are supporting the root causes of sexual violence by wanting bad men imprisoned.
In the wake of sex scandals that have rocked the charity, Oxfam has produced guidance which states that: “Mainstream feminism centres on privileged white women and demands that ‘bad men’ be fired or imprisoned”.
Accompanied by a cartoon of a crying white woman, it adds that this “legitimises criminal punishment, harming black and other marginalised people”. ....
