It is unusual that state education leaders would be in a position to warrant this letter. We write to oppose the actions taken to ban oil and gas leases on federal land and to curtail production and transmission of the commodities. WDE: Biden's pause on loan payments, oil and gas bans to impact Wyoming schools, students

CASPER, Wyo. The Wyoming Department of Education detailed a number of executive actions President Joe Biden has taken which “concern schools, students and families” in a Tuesday, Feb. 16 newsletter sent to superintendents across Wyoming.
The WDE also pointed to two actions related to mineral production on federal lands. Superintendent Jillian Balow has said that the Biden administration’s energy policies could negatively impact education funding for the state.
The WDE pointed to two orders which could impact mineral production and therefore education funding in Wyoming and other mineral producing states:
