Teen arrested, second suspect sought in Lumberton shooting case

LUMBERTON A 17-year-old was arrested Wednesday, and an 18-year-old is being sought, in the Lumberton shooting death of a man March 15.
The 17-year-old male is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy with a dangerous weapon and larceny of firearm, according to the news release from the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
The juvenile, whose name was not released, is being held in the Cumberland Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
Warrants for identical charges have been issued for Brendon Deon Jones, 18, of Fairmont, the release said. ....

Lumber Bridge, N.C. A shooting on Christmas Eve in Robeson County left one person dead and another injured.
Deputies were called to the 2500 block of Lombard Village Road in Lumber Road for a report of two people shot and shots being fired into homes just after 6 p.m.
When they arrived, they found Joshua Locklear, 32, dead at the scene. John McMillian, 29, was taken to UNC Southeastern Medical Center for treatment. He was later taken to an undisclosed medical center and is expected to recover from his injuries.
The shooting remains under investigation. ....

Man dies in Christmas Eve shooting at Robeson County mobile home park

ROBESON COUNTY Robeson County Sheriff’s Office authorities are investigating the death of a man killed Christmas Eve in a mobile home park.
Deputies responded to shots being fired and two individuals shot before 6:15 p.m. Christmas Eve at Lombardy Village Mobile Home Park near the 2500 block of Lombardy Village Road.
Joshua A. Locklear, 32, of Lumber Bridge was found dead inside of a car when deputies arrived, officials said in a news release.
A second man, John McMillian, 29, of Lumber Bridge, was taken to UNC Southeastern Medical Center to be treated for his gunshot wounds, officials said.
McMillian was transferred to an undisclosed medical center and is expected to recover from his injuries, authorities said. ....

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WMBF) – Authorities in Robeson County are investigating after a man was shot and killed Tuesday in St. Pauls.
Deputies were called to the 1100 block of Britt Road shortly after 6:30 p.m. after two homes were shot into, leaving a 22-year-old man injured, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim, identified as Dennis M. Bain, was taken to UNC Southeastern Medical Center where he died from his injuries, deputies said. ....

22-year-old killed in St. Pauls shooting.

ST. PAULS The Robeson County Sheriff s Office is investigating the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man, according to a news release.
Deputies responded to reports of an individual shot and two houses shot into on the 1000 block of Britt Road in St. Pauls just before 7 p.m. Tuesday, the release said.
Before deputies arrived, Dennis M. Bain, 22, of St. Pauls was first taken from the scene by private vehicle, then later transferred to an emergency vehicle and taken to UNC Southeastern Medical Center, where died from his injuries, the release said.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is assisting with the investigation. ....
