(HOUSTON) - As a record number of students are impacted by the coronavirus this school year, a Houston nonprofit s efforts to support them are getting a much-needed boost.
Communities In Schools of Houston (CIS) received a $50,000 COVID-19 recovery grant from Humana Healthy Horizons to to help provide emergency aid and guidance as well as counseling support to students and families struggling with hardships.
From mental health counseling to assistance with bills, families needs have never been greater as cases of COVID-19 continue to surge, and they are turning to CIS student support specialists in this time of great need. ....

Hanover Parks continues mapping out new 5-year plan

An exciting future is in the works for the Hanover Parks as it seeks more public input in the coming weeks while developing a five-year plan.
On Tuesday night, the Hanover Park Committee met to map out actions leading up to April 15 deadline when it will must submit an application to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources for the Land and Water Conservation Fund grant to fund improvements to the Hanoverâs parks system.
âWe are all proud of the history of Hanover and all our founding fathers did to pave the way for the the town as it is today,â it was stated in documentation for the five-year plan submitted by committee spokesman Don Server. âWe know from the past successes of our Community Days, Arts Festivals, Tour of Homes as well as the days when our Parks flourished is incentive for us to revive the spirit that once lived within our community.
