(HOUSTON) - As a record number of students are impacted by the coronavirus this school year, a Houston nonprofit s efforts to support them are getting a much-needed boost.
Communities In Schools of Houston (CIS) received a $50,000 COVID-19 recovery grant from Humana Healthy Horizons to to help provide emergency aid and guidance as well as counseling support to students and families struggling with hardships.
From mental health counseling to assistance with bills, families needs have never been greater as cases of COVID-19 continue to surge, and they are turning to CIS student support specialists in this time of great need. ....

Humana to Begin Serving Medicaid Managed Care and Dual Eligible Residents in South Carolina

LOUISVILLE, Ky. ( ) The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services opens new window (SCDHHS) has added Humana Inc. opens new window (NYSE: HUM) to its Healthy Connections Medicaid program and its Healthy Connections Prime program to serve children and adults across the state, including residents dually eligible for Medicaid and Medicare.
Humana will begin enrolling new Healthy Connections Medicaid members on July 1, 2021, followed by new Healthy Connections Prime members beginning January 1, 2022. Healthy Connections Prime is an expanded option for South Carolinians who have both Medicare and Medicaid, operating under a joint demonstration contract between the state and the federal government. ....
