The Miracle Angels of Israel United Methodist Church in Lewes presented Beebe Medical Foundation with a gift of $5,495 to support Beebe Healthcare’s oncology services patient special needs fund.
The group’s last annual gift was made in February 2020, and then the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
Under the leadership of the Rev. Marjorie Belmont-Burns, the Miracle Angels have always raised funds through a multitude of community activities including yard sales, bake sales and special events. Beebe Medical Foundation recently presented a gift of $20,504 to Beebe Healthcare’s Oncology Services for its Cancer Patient Special Needs Fund.
More than 270 community members donated funds during the annual Miracle Mile event held June 27. Gifts continued coming in to the foundation throughout the year.
The fund assists individual patients who have limited financial resources and need help covering emergent expenses such as prescriptions or copays for medications; medical supplies such as wigs or mastectomy prostheses; nutrition; essential living expenses; and transportation.
