East Grand Forks School District reports zero new COVID-19 cases in two weeks
After a year of grim milestones, the East Grand Forks School District reported a positive one: no students or staff have reported testing positive for COVID-19 since Feb. 25.

As COVID-19 cases continue to decrease in Polk County, the East Grand Forks School District reported a positive milestone: no cases of the virus have been reported in the school community in the last two weeks.
There have been 193 cases reported in the district among students and staff since the beginning of the pandemic, Superintendent Mike Kolness told the School Board at its regular meeting Monday, March 8, and 17 of those cases were reported between Dec. 22 and Feb. 25. The most recent 14-day average number of cases per capita in Polk County was 13.93. ....

Dr. Jennifer Kephart Named School District of Washington Superintendent

Dr. Jennifer Kephart has been named the School District of Washington’s new Superintendent, effective July 1, 2021.
The Board of Education made the announcement during its monthly meeting on Wednesday, December 16.
Kephart replaces Dr. Lori VanLeer, who will retire following the 2020-21 school year after serving 13 years as the SDOW Superintendent.
Kephart currently is in her second year as Associate Superintendent of Academic Services of the Lee’s Summit School District, a suburb of Kansas City. This is her fourth year in the Lee’s Summit School District after previously serving as Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education for two years. ....
