Man charged with murder stabs cellmate in county jail

SOUTH BEND A murder suspect being held in the St. Joseph County Jail stabbed his cellmate earlier this week, police say.
Malik Ware, 26, was stabbed in his neck and arm on Monday afternoon by Mark Coleman, a release from the St. Joseph County Police Department said.
Ware was in his cell at the time. Police believe Coleman, Ware s cellmate, was unprovoked in attacking Ware.
Coleman, 37, was charged Wednesday with felony battery in connection to the stabbing. Court documents say Ware and Coleman didn t know each other and that Coleman began asking Ware if he was the devil and threatened to kill him.  ....

Last week, the Perspective revisited the same locations to see if more people were wearing masks following the new ordinance.
Buffalo Wild Wings, Casey’s gas station on South Webster Street, One-Stop Express on East Southway Boulevard, Rural King, Kroger in the Maple Crest Plaza, and Meijer were observed 30 minutes each at various points in the afternoon last week.

Lance Bower, 44, was arrested on Dec. 19 at 8:51 p.m. at South Webster Street and Center Road. He was charged with operating while intoxicated (class A misdemeanor) and endangerment (class A misdemeanor).
William Epperly, 63, was arrested on Dec. 20 at 1:20 a.m. at West Havens Street and North Webster Street. He was charged with a warrant for theft.
Blake Grau, 23, was arrested on Dec. 19 at 1:33 a.m. at 2309 E. Southway St. He was charged with operating while intoxicated (level 5 felony).
Reginald Greene, 42, was arrested on Dec. 18 at 2:10 p.m. at 1524 N. Purdum St. He was charged with resisting law enforcement (level 6 felony), driving while suspended (class A misdemeanor), and a warrant for driving while suspended. ....
