A rowdy-sheeter abducted a businessman he had befriended in jail from his house in Thanisandra and extorted Rs 21,000 from him, before he was caught and sent back to jail.

The underpass – in Dr Shivaram Karanth Layout, in Jakkur – was supposed to save the time and fuel of the many citizens who cross the busy railway level cross to go towards

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (
BBMP) has resumed the work on filling up potholes, which was briefly suspended following rainfall early this month. According to the
traffic police survey, the roads are filled with at least 6,664
potholes while about 164 stretches need a complete makeover.
The list of potholes was given by traffic inspectors after assessing the road condition in their jurisdictions, it’s learnt. During the first survey, the police identified 608 potholes. The next survey was apparently more rigorous as the traffic police listed at least 6,664 potholes. The civic body has just taken up repair work. ....
