Not many people think of corrosion every day. However, the professors and students researching at Ohio University’s Institute for Corrosion and Multiphase Technology (ICMT) work continuously to find new ways to mitigate issues caused by corrosion. 
The ICMT, out of Russ College of Engineering and Technology, has been awarded the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) International 2021 Distinguished Organization Award by the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) recogn ....

Report says Pennsylvania federal groups investigating Shell Falcon pipeline


Shell s controversial multistate pipeline is under investigation by several state and federal agencies for issues that an environmental advocacy group said poses serious threats to public safety, workers and natural resources.
FracTracker Alliance, a nonprofit that focuses on the oil-and-gas industry, obtained documents that indicate an investigation into safety matters with the Shell Falcon Pipeline involving the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, the state Attorney General, the Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. According to a release, the investigation focuses on potential noncompliance with construction and public safety requirements and alleged cover-up of incidents that could put the public at risk. ....

GREELEY, Colo. Thomas “Tom” J. Gordon, 91, of Greeley, passed away Jan. 8, 2021, at his home in Greeley.
Tom was born June 22, 1929 in Mountain View, Okla., to Thomas J. and Etta (Murray) Gordon. He married Wynona Webb on Oct. 7, 1951 in Annapolis, Maryland. They were married for 66 years.
He was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors’ degree in Chemistry. Tom moved to Great Bend, Kan., in 1954. He was the founder and President of Gordon Lab, Inc., an oilfield chemical company, for about 25 years. He was a member and officer of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the National Association of Corrosion Engineers, and member of the Board of Directors of the American Petroleum Institute, the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce and President of the Great Bend County Club. He served as Lay Reader and Senior Warden of St. John’s Episcopal Churc ....
