U.S. Senate Democrats have proposed a clean energy standard that calls for getting the country’s electricity from sources that don’t emit or can capture their greenhouse gases by 2035. But that could be a tall order for a state like Indiana.
Right now, Indiana only gets 9 percent of its energy from sources like wind and solar.
David Konisky is a professor at the O Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University. Though the state expects to see nine coal plant closures in the next decade, Konisky said some utilities plan to replace them with natural gas and it will take strong policy to get them to change their minds. ....

Major NJ energy company sets new clean-energy goal

Public Service Enterprise Group is now setting its goal for achieving net-zero climate emissions by 2030, an ambitious target 20 years ahead of a previous goal set by New Jersey’s largest energy company.
The goal marks one of the first and most aggressive net-zero emission pledges set in the U.S. by a large utility and power generation company. “Net-zero” refers to the balance between greenhouse-gas emissions produced and those removed from the atmosphere. ....

Radical Left's Infrastructure Bill Wish List Includes Climate Change, Amnesty

Members of the radical left have released a wish list of items they hope are incorporated in the next infrastructure bill, prioritizing climate change initiatives and mass amnesty.
The Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) surveyed its 95 members, which include far-left members of the “Squad” Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) and released a list of priorities the CPC as a whole is advancing at the current stage of infrastructure discussions. The list includes five key areas, which include beefing up government-run health care and tackling climate-related issues while providing amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants. ....
