The Minister of Youth and Sports designate, Mr Mustapha Ussif, has denied bussing people to register in the Yagaba Kubori Constituency during last year s national identification registration exercise.
He further denied using buses of the National Service Scheme to convey registrants from other parts of the country to the constituency.
Context
As a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Ussif was accused in a footage for using his director position to bus the registrants to the constituency, which the accusers equated to partisan political activity.
Vetting
Mr Ussif told the Appointments Committee when he was being vetted for the position of Minister of Youth and Sports that he was not personally involved in the bussing of the registrants, and when he got to know that National Service buses were being used, he advised against it. ....

Youth And Sports Minister Designate Denies Bussing People To Register

Mr Mustapha Yussif, the Minister of Youth and Sports Designate, has denied media report connecting him to the bussing of people to register in the Yagaba Kubori Constituency during last year’s national identification registration exercise.
A news report from an Accra-based media organisation, showed at the vetting of Mr Yussif, at the Parliament House, in Accra implicated the nominee, then boss of the National Service Scheme, for using buses of the Scheme to convey registrants from other parts of the country to the constituency.
However, Mr Yussif told the Appointments Committee, where he was vetted for the position of Minister of Youth any Sports, that he was not personally involved in the bussing of the registrants. ....

IRON MOUNTAIN The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 in Iron Mountain could use some new faces in its ranks.
Struggling with flagging membership and shrinking revenue amid the pandemic, 67-year-old Post Commander Jim Richards and former commander Jerry Hicks, 80, has called on the community to become part of the organization founded more than a century ago.
“We’re hanging on by our teeth right now,” Richards said. “We’ve had to restructure loans, we had to do several things. We did what we could to save money.” ....
