Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed on Saturday, after taking the AztraZenica Covid-19 vaccine earlier distributed to the state, urged the federal government to source for funds in order to acquire enough vaccines for the country’s population.
According to the governor who was joined by his wife and other state officials at the Bauchi Government House, Bauchi state with about 8million people was given only 80,570 vaccines by the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency.
“I want to plead on behalf of Nigerians that this vaccination is not enough. We can not play politics with our health. Nigeria is rich enough to buy vaccine, we should not be a beggar nation. I am urging the federal government to make sure that we look for resources, not to depend on Covax to be able to cover all our population. ....

As Lagos prepares to roll out its COVID vaccination programme, medical doctors in the state are demanding equity in the vaccination processes as well as strict adherence to the initial plans of vaccinating health workers and other front liners to ensure a hitch-free vaccination of all Lagosians.
In a chat with Vanguard, the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Lagos State branch, Dr Adetunji Adenekan said the Association was yet to get notification from the state government on the modalities of the rollout of vaccines in the state. ....
