E-scooters are to be rolled out to three more boroughs in London (Dominic Lipinski/PA)
A trial of e-scooters in London is set to be expanded to three more boroughs.
City of London, Southwark and some parts of Lambeth will start rolling out e-scooters from Monday, taking the total number available to rent in the capital to 1,200.
Around 600 e-scooters are currently available in Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, Richmond, Tower Hamlets and Canary Wharf.
Transport for London says it is in discussions with London Councils and other boroughs about further expansions in the coming months. ....

TRIBUTES have been paid to a loving 15 year old stabbed to death on the streets of North London.
Romario Opia, who friends said lived for riding his bike , was knifed to death on the way to a fish and chips shop on Monday.

Operating across London, staff at the Met Contact Centre (MetCC) are on hand 24 hours a day to give essential assistance to police staff and distressed Londoners.
And in a report released today (Dec 30), the MetCC revealed that from January 1 to December 1, 2020, staff received 3,540,185 calls to 101 and 999 services.
Although over half came from callers who required immediate assistance – for burglaries, violent crimes and murder scenes - other requests were stranger.
Amongst these were requests for chicken nuggets and a caller who said, remember to shower, I can smell you from my house . ....

Homicide, burglary, and requests for chicken nuggets – Met Contact Centre shares details on prank calls received in 2020
From the period 1 January to 1 December 2020, staff at the Met s Contact Centre (MetCC) fielded a total of 3,540,185 101 and 999 calls, with over half coming from callers who required immediate assistance. Requests for service included attendance at ongoing burglaries, violent crimes and murder scenes.
MetCC’s 1,710 employees, who operate from three different call centres across London, are on hand 24 hours a day to deliver essential operational assistance to the officers and staff who make up the service, and be a point of contact for Londoners who are sometimes in extreme distress. ....
