TRP case: Ex-BARC CEO directly involved, rigged entire system, HC told

Research Council (BARC) CEO Partho Dasgupta rigged the entire TRP system for news channels and also discussed issues of national security with a certain owner cum news anchor on Whatsapp, the Mumbai Police told the Bombay High Court on Monday.
Special public prosecutor Shishir Hiray told a single-judge bench presided over by Justice PD Naik that Dasgupta was directly involved in manipulating Television Rating Points (TRPs) with the help of other accused persons.
Hiray, who was opposing Dasgupta s bail plea in the HC, said the crime branch of the Mumbai police had accessed, among other things, Dasgupta s WhatsApp chats with a certain owner and anchor of a TV channel where in he discussed manipulating the TRPs. ....

(“TPO”) announced today that an investor group led by TPO and including Stephens Capital Partners, Redwood Capital Investments, and WaveDivision Capital has signed a definitive agreement under which Cable One, Inc. (“Cable One”), currently a minority investor in Hargray, will purchase the remaining interests in Hargray. An Australian entrepreneur has unveiled an ambitious countrywide, fibre-optic network that could open significant commercial opportunities and make Australia a hub for international undersea networks traversing the troubled Indo-Pacific region.
HyperOne is a AU$1.5 billion hyperscale, national fibre network that will stretch more than 20,000 kilometres across Australia, and achieve speeds of 10,000 terabits per second.
Tech entrepreneur Bevan Slattery unveiled the plan earlier this week saying it was “big, bold, and way overdue.”
“HyperOne will be the first true private national fibre backbone project connecting major data hubs in every capital city in every state and territory across Australia,” he said in a statement. ....
