In a reply filed before the Delhi High Court, the social media company had earlier submitted that it would be appointing a new interim grievance officer by June 11.

Vinay Prakash as its new interim Resident Grievance Officer.
The move comes days after the Delhi High Court directed interim officers appointed by Twitter Inc under the
Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (IT Rules, 2021) to file affidavits stating that they will be responsible for dealing with any grievances raised.
On June 21, Twitter s earlier interim grievance officer, Dharmendra Chatur, withdrew from the post. ....

WhatsApp on Friday accepted that ‘the government is the administrator’ in its case and informed the Delhi
High Court that it will put its privacy policy update “on hold” until the Data Protection Bill came into force.
This is a significant development after the new Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw made it crystal clear within minutes of taking charge that “law of the land is supreme” and no one can afford to disrespect it.
WhatsApp’s counsel also accepted that its commitment is “we need to fit in the law”. ....
