It’s been a few days since the Union launched their second kit to the world, and the reaction has ultimately been positive. For years when the Union would release their secondary kit, many people would complain with “Not another white t-shirt.”
Welp the U really have outdone itself with releasing the first kit that came out of consultation with Union Creators’ Collective, and there is not an ounce of white in the kit. Instead it leans heavily on the colors of the region the team calls home. Taking the blue and gold colors from the flags of the Delaware valley. CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) Over the past couple of years, the Philadelphia Union has given their fans a chance to determine what the team will look like on the field not by allowing them to pick their players or their coaches, but the next best thing, their secondary kits.

In fact, the Philadelphia Union’s new secondary jersey is many things their last away jersey was not.
Dubbed the BYIU kit (the I is a lightning bolt), the new Union jersey is a stark departure from previous away kits for the club with a move toward a color scheme and design referencing the city of Philadelphia, the state of Delaware, the state of New Jersey and the Sons of Ben supporters group, complete with lightning bolts.
